Social networks in the non-profit sector: Social support practices

This paper aims to analyze the adequacy of social support practices in non-profit sector by users and representatives which are part “Conselho Local de Ação Social (CLAS)” a organization located north Portugal focused on prevention exclusion poverty. A mixed methodological approach was used. questionnaire applied beneficiaries. To complement results, interviews with entities that constitute executive board CLAS were conducted. It possible perceive discrepancies provided measure assessment given entity responsible for network. Consequently, we could conclude beneficiaries response under research low level received, as opposed institutions high provided. difference perception is reflected all dimensions analyzed. supports executors decision makers implementation local policies alignment beneficiaries’ expectations well contribute operation improvement networks. As contributions practice, some practical suggestions advised network operators, such need more active listening feedback beneficiaries, set other measures be implemented regularly medium long term. Regarding contribution theory, it important mention present innovative original contributes clarify expand existing literature networks tertiary sector, based analysis 5 different support. Furthermore, authors intend welfare increasing performance analysis.
